A lot of people say that addiction is a disease; however a better explanation exists that addiction starts with a problem that a person does not have a solution for. Using this information, then addiction is something that can be cured. It is a problem that can be overcome.
This is what the Narconon program has used since its early inception in the 1960’s. Based on this, the program has cured thousands upon thousands from the grips of substance abuse problems.
The Narconon program is divided into eight different parts. When someone starts the program, they initially have to go through the withdrawal and detox process, before they can enter the actual program. Narconon uses vitamin therapy, walks and light processes to help to naturally ease withdrawal pains and discomforts and help a person to safely come off drugs.
The next part of Narconon is the New Life Detoxification Program. During this portion the individual will undergo will sit in a dry heat sauna for 20 minute increments, taking 10 minute breaks for 4-5 hours per day. They will also do light aerobics, and they will be put on a daily vitamin regimen to help push all of the toxins out of their system. When you ingest drugs or alcohol, all of these toxins from what you are ingesting, go into your body, a lot of them exit when you sweat or urinate, but a lot of them stay in your body for years after you stop using. When the toxins stay in your body they go through a filtration system through your liver and kidneys. When they go through this process they get turned into protein based molecules called metabolites; these metabolites are fat bonding so they stay in the body for years after a person stops using drugs.
The reason why this is dangerous is because metabolites are going to bond with your fatty tissue, and any times your heart rate goes up and your blood gets pumping, these toxins go back into your system, and that causes a physical drug craving. The New Life Detoxification Program helps to eliminate these toxins from the body.
Once this is complete there are several courses that an individual does to handle all of the mental and emotional aspects of substance abuse. You will go through these courses, in a classroom setting with a supervisor to help you with any questions. The first course that will be done is the Learning Improvement Course. This course will teach you how to study and stay focused; it also teaches the barriers that can keep one from studying.
The next course you will learn is the Community and Perception Course. This course will teach you communication skills, and it increases your ability to focus on goal and be aware of present time. Once this is complete the individual will do the
Ups and Downs in Life Course. This course will teach you how to have better relationships and identify personalities. Next is the Personal Values and Integrity Course. This course will teach you how to deal with any guilt you may have from doing anything wrong to someone.
Book 5, as many call it, or The Changing Conditions in Life Course is next. This course will give you specific steps to improve conditions in your life.
And, the final course is the Way to Happiness Course. This course will teach you 21 precepts that will lead you down the road to happiness by re-introducing a common sense moral code.
After you are done with all of the courses, then you will have to do a final review to insure that you received all of the tools that you need to succeed at a sober life and achieve your goals, and that you understood and know how to apply these tools. When you do the final review, you will write a discharge plan, on this plan you will make a list of goals that you want to accomplish, and what actions you will take to accomplish them. You will also write a list of problems you may have to deal with when you get home and what actions you are going to take to deal with them.
When all of these phases are complete you are sober and clean, also there are many options that you have when graduating the Narconon program. Those that qualify will apply to work at the facility and undergo a thorough training program. Once the training is complete and all the qualifications are met the individual can apply for staff. Many also return to their homes and start working on their aftercare programs while living a clean and sober life. There are also some who decide to relocate and “start over.” Often times this is done if they feel that their past environment is not ideal for recovery.
The Narconon program exists to help people get and say clean and achieve the goals that they have set for themselves.
Narconon has a 70% success rate, and has been helping people with addiction since 1966.
