On February 19, 1966 William Benitez founded NARCONON (NARCOtics-NONe), a drug rehabilitation program based on the technology discovered by L. Ron Hubbard. An inmate at Arizona State Prison, he was granted permission to start 20 convicted drug addicts on a trial basis. Today, Narconon has expanded to include over 90 centers worldwide offering education and rehabilitation services.
